 We meet at Magnolia Presbyterian Church, 3051 28th Ave. W., corner of 28th and Dravus.  If  you are interested, you are welcome to drop in during our meetings and find out about Cub Scouting.

News:

Welcome to our new Cub Scouts!   And special thanks to the Boy Scouts of Troop 85 who helped lead the Cubs in scoutly games at the first pack meeting of the school year, and led the first aid training.

We had fun at the Raingutter Regatta even though the rain didn't let  up until we were packed up an ready to go home.  We managed to keep the hot dogs and snacks dry under the canopy.

The weather was perfect for the corn maze trip, nice and sunny without any mud!  We were careful to watch the maps and avoid wrong turns, getting through the maze in record time, so that we were able to do both mazes. 

We had an amazing assortment of pumpkins at our pumpkin carving contest, everybody did a great job.

Thanks to everyone who helped with the litter pick-up along Gilman Ave.   And thanks to Mark for organizing it for the past 3 years.

The Pinewood Derby race was on February 7. This was great fun for everyone.  Congratulations to all the boys who built such great looking cars.

For the March den meeting, the Wolves designed, built and played on their own miniature golf course.  (Photos on the photo page). 

Upcoming Events:

The next meeting will be Thursday May. 8.  See you at 7:00 PM at Magnolia Presbyterian Church.

We will have another Litter pick-up along Gilman Avenue on Saturday, May 10 at 2:00 PM.  Meet at the teachers' parking lot at Lawton School.  This is a good way to help the community, and is actually quite fun too.

On Sunday May 18 at 2:00 PM we will meet at Discovery Park for a Geocaching expedition.  We search for hidden "treasure" using Global Positioning Satellite receivers.  We plan to meet at the visitor's center.  Please contact us for more details.

Our June pack meeting on June 12 will be the last meeting of the school year, so we will hold our Blue and Gold banquet to celebrate the past year and pass out awards.  The location will be announced soon.

Be sure to mark you calendars for Cub Scout Day Camp, which will be July 8 - 11 at Carkeek Park.  More details and registration forms are available at  http://home.comcast.net/~auroradaycamp/.  Please contact us to register.  We plan to collect registrations by the May 8 pack meeting, as it costs $10 more after May 15.

Corn Maze

This year we are holding Pack Meetings on the second Thursday of the month, and Den Meetings on the fourth Thursday of the month.  Meetings are held at the Magnolia Presbyterian Church at the corner of Dravus and 28th on top of the hill in Magnolia at 7pm in the fellowship hall downstairs.  Please contact us so that you will be notified if there are any changes.

Sept. 13 (Thursday)
 First Pack Meeting of the school year.  7:00 PM at Magnolia Presbyterian Church.
Sept. 16 (Sunday) Raingutter Regatta.  At Ella Bailey Park, 1:00 PM.  Hot Dogs will be served.
Sept. 28  (Friday) First Den Meeting of the school year.  7:00 PM at Magnolia Presbyterian Church.  Moved to Friday to avoid conflict with Lawton School curriculum night.
Oct. 11 (Thursday) October Den Meeting.  7:00 PM at Magnolia Presbyterian Church.  We  are switching the den and pack meetings for October so that the pumpkin carving contest will be closer to Halloween.  The dens will meet together and learn about knife safety (good to have before the pumpkin carving contest!).
Oct. 14  (Sunday)
 Corn Maze outing.  Please contact us so we know who is coming.  Meet at Lawton School parking lot at 1:00 to carpool, otherwise meet at the maze at 1:35.  Link to Maze information..
Oct. 25 (Thursday)
 October Pack Meeting.  7:00 PM at Magnolia Presbyterian Church.  This will be the Pumpkin Carving Contest.  Be sure to bring your own pumpkin!
Nov. 8  (Thursday)
 November Pack Meeting.  7:00 PM at Magnolia Presbyterian Church.  We will all learn about the basics of first aid.
Nov. 11 (Sunday)
 Service Project - Litter Pick-Up.  Pack 85 has adopted Gilman Ave. Please meet at Lawton School (teachers parking lot) at 1:00 PM, and we will do our part to keep the city clean.
