Welcome to the home page for Cub Scout Pack 85 in Seattle's Magnolia Neighborhood.

We meet at Magnolia Presbyterian Church, 3051 28th Ave. W., corner of 28th and Dravus. If you are interested, you are welcome to drop in during our meetings and find out about Cub Scouting.

News:

In May we went geocaching between Discovery Park and the Ballard Locks. We searched for hidden "treasure" using Global Positioning Satellite receivers. Those who participated had a lot of fun. Many thanks to Mandy and Tim for leading this, and to Geocaching.com for lending the GPS receivers.

Our June pack meeting on June 12 was the last meeting of the school year, was our Blue and Gold banquet to celebrate the past year and pass out awards. It was held at the usual meeting place, Magnolia Presbyterian Church, 3051 28th Ave. W. Congratulations to the boys (and their parents) who completed their advancement.

A good portion of the pack went to Cub Scout Day Camp, which was July 8 - 11 at Carkeek Park. A great time was had by all.

We held our Raingutter Regatta on Sunday September 14 at Ella Bailey Park It was nice and sunny this year, and a brisk wind helped the boats with fast sailing.

The boys had great fun racing their cars at the Pinewood Derby in Feb. We also had a fun bowling night in March, The boys beat the parents.

This year we will be planning a number of joint activities with Pack 80. These included Wolf/Bear winter camp in December, bicycle rodeo in the spring and will include Mom & Me Camp in the spring.

Outing at Carkeek Park

This year we are holding Pack Meetings on the second Thursday of the month, and Den Meetings on the fourth Thursday of the month (except for November, December, January, May and June). Meetings are held at the Magnolia Presbyterian Church at the corner of Dravus and 28th on top of the hill in Magnolia at 7pm in the fellowship hall downstairs. Please contact us so that you will be notified if there are any changes. In the spring we usually need to juggle the schedule to work around baseball games and practices.

Sept. 11 (Thursday)	First Pack Meeting of the school year. 7:00 PM at Magnolia Presbyterian Church.
Sept. 14 (Sunday)	Raingutter Regatta. At Ella Bailey Park, 1:00 PM. Hot Dogs will be served.
Sept. 26 (Friday)	First Den Meeting of the school year. 7:00 PM at Magnolia Presbyterian Church. Note: This will have to be moved to avoid conflict with Lawton School curriculum night. Stay tuned for the new date.
Oct. 9 (Thursday)	October Den Meeting. 7:00 PM at Magnolia Presbyterian Church. We are switching the den and pack meetings for October so that the pumpkin carving contest will be closer to Halloween. The dens will meet together and learn about knife safety (good to have before the pumpkin carving contest!). Please turn in popcorn orders tonight.
Oct. 23 (Thursday)	October Pack Meeting. 7:00 PM at Magnolia Presbyterian Church. This will be the Pumpkin Carving Contest. Be sure to bring your own pumpkin!
Nov. 6 (Thursday)	November Den Meeting. 6;30 PM at B. H.'s. We will work on cooking (Bear chapter 9). Please Contact Us for details. Moved to the first Thursday for Nov. & Dec. to avoid holidays.

Feb. 8 (Saturday)	Magnolia Clean-up. We will do our litter pick-up as part of the community clean-up day. Meet at 9:00 AM at Magnolia Garden Center.
Feb.10 (Tuesday)	February Pack Meeting. 7:00 PM at Magnolia Presbyterian Church. Pinewood Derby Race! Please Contact Us if you would like to participate and want a car kit. Moved to Tuesday this month.
